Quantities & Cost
Bills of quantities measured directly from drawings, structured by work section, with take-off sheets retained so any quantity can be traced back to the dimension it came from.
Overview
A bill of quantities is a contract document that will be measured against, argued over and audited for the life of the project. Quantities produced quickly and without retained working are a liability: when a figure is challenged eighteen months later, nobody can say where it came from.
We measure from the drawings, retain every take-off sheet, and structure the bill by work section so it reads in construction sequence. Item descriptions are written to remove ambiguity about what is included, because most quantity disputes are really description disputes wearing a different hat.
Scope
Every element below is covered as standard. Anything outside it is quoted separately and agreed before we begin.
Systematic measurement from the approved drawing set, sheet by sheet, with dimensions recorded against their source.
Bill organised by trade and construction sequence so it can be priced, measured and certified without constant cross-referencing.
Descriptions written to state precisely what is included and excluded, in line with the specification.
Every quantity supported by a retained take-off sheet identifying the drawing, grid reference and dimensions used.
Independent re-measurement of high-value and high-risk items before issue.
Provisional sums, prime cost items and dayworks schedules structured so they can be administered cleanly during the contract.
Our Approach
01
Take-off sheets are part of the deliverable. When a figure is questioned, the answer takes minutes rather than a re-measure.
02
Careful take-off routinely uncovers dimensional conflicts and missing details. You get that query schedule as a by-product, before it becomes a site issue.
03
Ambiguous item descriptions are the origin of most quantity disputes. Ours are drafted to close that gap deliberately.

A bidding document, a contract, a stalled bill, a stack of unrecorded measurements — whatever the position, a senior engineer will review it and come back within one working day with a written assessment, a timeline and a fixed price. There is no charge for this and nothing to sign.
